Negotiations presented by Rick McGuire, Continuous Improvement Manager PACCAR Purchasing

Our Speaker: Rick McGuire -  After serving as an infantry officer in the Army returned to school to get his MBA at the UW. Rick’s first purchasing job was in the early 1990’s as a buyer planner at a small manufacturing firm. He then spent a lot of time as a buyer in the Cell Phone industry buying circuit boards and circuit board assemblies. After a number of those firms went out of business he made the jump to the service industry and was a category manager for Expedia for 3 years. Rick then went to work for PACCAR buying parts for heavy trucks (18 wheelers). Rick has been with PACCAR since 2010 and is currently the Continuous Improvement Manager for the Purchasing department. In this capacity he is in charge of training for the buyers, supplier performance management, PACCAR’s Benchmarking Center and Purchasing’s six sigma effort
