Our October membership tour will be at Sonderen’s Packaging on Tuesday, October 18th.  The tour will start at 4:30 with an overview of their operations and how the pandemic and supply chain disruptions have impacted their business.  The actual tour starts at 5:00 pm (Please note you will NOT be able to enter the building after that time). 

Sonderen Packaging manufacturers high quality, custom folded cartons for many outstanding and highly successful companies.  Founded in 1963 by Al and Mary Sonderen, the company has been family-owned for over 59 years.  The family tradition carries on as the third generation prepares to lead the company into the future.  Since its inception, they’ve grown from 8 employees in a 2,000 square foot basement, to over 100 employees in a 130,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility.  Sonderen’s success can be attributed to the company’s reputation for high quality manufacturing, customer service second to none and building lasting relationships with customers, employees, and suppliers. 

These relationships proved to be invaluable during challenges faced by the company, among them a fire in 1998 that nearly destroyed the entire operation.  With the help of their dedicated workforce, loyal customers, trusting suppliers and a few friendly competitors, they were able to quickly rebuild their plant.  Remarkably, they retained 100% of their customers and avoided laying off a single employee.
